MTD 2023
The Mainport Talent Dinner 2023 is an exclusive networking event that connects ambitious students with decision-makers from the port and industrial sector. For this event, I was responsible for the complete branding and visual identity, translating the concept of meaningful connection into a coherent visual experience, from logo design to printed event materials.

Strategy & Excecution
The project lasted six weeks and followed a structured design process. I began with a preparation phase, outlining my planning, methods, and goals. In the research phase, I conducted both desk and field research. Desk research revealed a lack of accessible data but highlighted the seriousness of the issue. After that i went on with interviews, which gave me powerful personal insights into how unsafe many women feel while going out. From there, I moved into the define phase, where I created user profiles, framed the problem, set design principles, and clarified the direction of the solution. In the design phase, I translated my research into a digital prototype. The key features were designed with and tested by the target audience to ensure usability and relevance. After testing, I refined the product based on feedback and delivered the final prototype along with a concept video.

the challenge
the challenge
The challenge was to create a visual identity that feels credible and high-quality for companies, while remaining approachable and motivating for students.
An important part of this was grounding the identity in the event location: the Princess Theatre in Rotterdam. By incorporating elements from the theatre’s logo and visual language, the branding became directly connected to the setting of the dinner.

I was responsible for the full visual direction of the event, from the initial branding concept to the final event materials. Starting from the event’s format and location, I developed a visual identity that translated the atmosphere of the Princess Theatre into a consistent design system. I applied this identity across all physical and digital touchpoints, ensuring that every element, from information folders to table materials, supported the same look, feel and experience.

the challenge
The visual identity supported an informal, conversation-driven dinner format and created a strong link between the event and its location. This resulted in a calm, professional atmosphere and helped position the Mainport Talent Dinner as a recognisable and recurring networking event within the WaterTalent network.
